Southern Kentucky Regional Farmers’ Market
– a.k.a. SKY Farmer’s Market –
opens this weekend, April 10, 2010!
Come and visit us – mid-April through the end of October
Saturdays 7AM to 12 noon, AND Tuesdays 7AM to 1PM
RAIN OR SHINE!! At the Medical Center, 31W Bypass across from Kroger.
SKY Farmer’s Market is unique in that we are the only “producer-only” market in Bowling Green and the surrounding area. That means you are buying produce from the farmer who grew it.
Of course, that also means you can’t buy watermelons and tomatoes in May but when you do buy them in late June or July, you’re buying local Kentucky produce. Buying local is the best way to support local farmers, the local economy, and get the freshest food. Don’t be fooled by others’ claims of “home-grown.” After all, everything is grown at someone’s home 🙂
What you can find at our market:
Wonderful variety of seasonal produce
Gorgeous bedding plants, hanging baskets and color bowls
Perennials hardy in our area
Herbs to plant and to eat
Greener Groundz locally roasted organic/fair-trade coffee & teas
Kenny’s Country Cheese
JD Country milk
Mennonite baked goods
Handmade soaps and lotions
Farm Fresh eggs
Farm canned salsas and other savory items
Colorful cut flowers in bouquets and single stems
Zutrav dog biscuits
Hand built pottery
Farm fresh meats
AND!! Lots of friendly farmers and craftspeople
AND, AND!! All your friends in a great social atmosphere SO……what are you waiting for?
